He may be up there with the hottest actors currently appearing on the silver screen, but Oscar-nominated Michael Fassbender didn’t always have aspirations to head to Hollywood. Born in West Germany in 1977, he and his family moved to Killarney, County Kerry when he was two years old. Raised by his German father and Irish mother, Fassbender served as an altar boy at his family’s church while his parents ran a local restaurant, the West End House.
It was only at age 17 that Michael decided he wanted to become an actor, when he appeared in a local play casted by Donal Courtney. The acting bug took a firm hold and he moved to London to study drama at age 19, before dropping out in 1999 to go touring with the Oxford Stage Company.
These days, Michael has tucked plenty of mainstream success under his belt, appearing in 300, Inglourious Basterds, X-Men: First Class and Steve Jobs, where he took the coveted leading role. With more than 100 award nominations (including Academy Awards, BAFTAs and Golden Globes) and 51 wins to date, Fassbender has enjoyed phenomenal big-screen success over the past few years. He’s also one of the biggest celebrities we’ve seen in 883 Police yet, choosing to layer up recently in one of our best-selling 883 police jackets
We’re used to seeing up-and-coming British music artists and models in our latest collections, but it would seem that 883 Police’s inimitable take on effortless urban streetwear is starting to crop up among Hollywood’s jetset, too. Fassbender currently lives in Hackney, London but he regularly travels across the pond for his latest acting projects. And having recently established his own production company, Finn McCool Films with screenwriter Ronan Bennett, he’s likely to be clocking up even more air miles in the coming months. We hope he’ll be adding more 883 Police wear to his travel collection.
So if it’s good enough for an award-winning Best Actor, you’d better get on over to the 883 Police online store now and update your wardrobe. Take your pick from our latest collection, or delve into the archives to snap up a sale item before it’s gone. Whatever you add to cart, we’ll throw in free delivery if it totals more than £50 (providing it’s UK mainland delivery).
