The 883 Police team recently took over Manchester’s beloved Smokehouse & Cellar venue to celebrate a whole clutch of exciting recent achievements. Not only have we hit the milestone of 20 years in operation, but we’ve also launched a brand new website and a fresh seasonal collection. Put all that together and you’ve got the finest excuse for a big party.
And it would seem plenty of celebrities and stars of the music world would agree, as they all turned up in their finest (including some of our favourite 883 Police collection pieces) to help us celebrate our continued growth and success. So, on the 6th March 2017, this leading city centre venue threw open its doors to help us celebrate in real style.
The Smokehouse & Cellar has established itself as a regular favourite among locals, visitors and celebrities in recent months. Their eclectic decor, flavoursome food, live music and award-winning beer selection come together to provide an exciting spot to just while away a few hours - or party until the early hours. Known for its homegrown celebrity talent, Manchester is a buzzing metropolis that’s known for serving up a great night out, any day of the week.
Decked out in a blend of rustic wood and high-shine copper beer tanks, the Smokehouse & Cellar has got a real chilled vibe that we instantly loved, and it provided the perfect backdrop for an evening of food, drinks and great music.
883 Police has been gathering a legion of new fans over the past few years, all of whom have come to rely on the brand’s innovative denim twists and rugged Americana-inspired pieces. From distressed vintage jeans to clean leather bombers, crisp knitwear to directional accessories and everything in between, each collection has gained the brand additional pace, and the launch event only served to highlight this further. The latest collection is a fresh celebration of urban spirit and street style, that takes nods from current trends and twists them into something effortlessly unique.
In recent months, we’ve spotted award-winning actor Michael Fassbender, Vampire Diaries star Michael Malarkey and model/fashion blogger Imogen Leaver all putting their individual style stamps on an 883 Police piece. And our launch event revealed that we seem to have a few more celebrities to add to our growing fan base.
Among the celebrities gracing the Smokehouse & Cellar on the 9th March was one Ms. Katie Price. With more than 3,000,000 social media followers and a sparkling career that runs all the way back to 1996,
Katie’s carved herself a lasting spot in the UK’s hearts through her adventures in modelling, reality TV and her bagging of a coveted spot on the Loose Women panel for a spot of daytime TV domination.
Sporting a statement slogan tee, oversized shades, on-the-money choker and destroyed denim for effortless casual glam, everyone’s favourite outspoken TV personality rocked up with a girlfriend to celebrate with us and indulge in a bit of live music at our intimate gig.
And providing the tunes? It was none other than the X Factor’s Jake Quickenden - our very own model and brand ambassador.
Having wowed the crowds on not one but two series of ITV’s much-loved talent-hunting show, he gathered enough of a following to subsequently be invited to participate in primetime I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here. Finishing as a runner up, Jake’s star continued to rise thanks to the additional publicity brought by his IACGMOOH appearance and his ongoing relationship with Carl ‘Foggy’ Fogarty’s daughter, Danielle.
And in honour of 883 Police, Jake turned up to serenade our guests clad in the best-selling Jace leather jacket. The 28-year-old multi-talent performed a host of live numbers armed with his guitar, which he was inspired to pick up after listening to Johnny Cash and The Beatles as a child.
Sprinkling even more star quality on the evening was Emmerdale’s Adam Thomas. Adam was joined by his castmate, Danny Miller, and both guys arrived sporting their favourite 883 Police pieces in honour of the event.
A launch night to remember
At 883 Police, we like to make strong impressions wherever we go, and our launch night was no exception.
We’d like to pay a huge thanks to the Smokehouse & Cellar for providing such a superb venue, and thanks also to all our guests who came along and helped to make the night such a success. We look forward to seeing them rocking the latest 883 Police collection in the coming weeks and months!
Thanks to social media publicity in the runup, we managed to pique the interest of several local and national publications, including The Sun who sent along a reporter to cover the event. Check out what they had to say by clicking here.
